The British company Cyrus presented a large new range of XR equipment, made in 'half' size, which can be safely attributed to a real Hi-Fi class.
The series consists of a total of 6 components - two digital amplifiers, a preamplifier, two CD players and an external power supply. The circuitry and mechanics of all devices are designed in such a way as to prevent even the possibility that extraneous noise may affect the quality of playback.
CDi-XR is a full player with QXR 2nd generation DAC. Optimised to work with CD-resolutions. A re-synchronisation scheme has been implemented to reduce unwanted frequency and phase deviations of the reproduced signal. CDt XR is a pure audiophile CD transport, in which the removal of the DAC path has allowed for a quieter environment for signal formation. By separating the control into two microprocessors (interface and motor), it was possible to eliminate even the smallest possibility of interrupting playback.
The integrated i7-XR and i9-XR amplifiers, which deliver 52 and 91 Watts per channel respectively, are equipped with advanced DAC filters with seven different settings to ensure that possible distortion of the transmitted signal is minimised. The Pre-XR preamplifier with built-in phono-corrector has an extended dynamic range, reduced noise levels due to asymmetrical circuitry.
The PSU-XR power supply with integrated microprocessor enables optimum parameters to be output for any connected equipment in the series. By the way, the transformer was specially designed for it, which allowed it to increase power by 60%.
Cyrus XR is a compact equipment that really deserves attention.
