Italian manufacturers of Hi-Fi loudspeakers never stop surprising. Once again delighted connoisseurs of true Sonus Faber sound quality. New Maxima Amator Tower loudspeakers, which will complement the unique Heritage collection, will be supplied already in December 2020.
The production of large tower-type loudspeakers has always been complicated by design restrictions on the use of solid wood. In the case of the Maxima Amator Tower, this problem has been solved and its body is made of 25 mm walnut panels prepared using a unique technology. It was possible to ensure structural rigidity and minimise the possibility of resonances by dividing the interior volume into 3 parts by partitions.

As in Electa Amator III, the high-frequency path is the responsibility of the Damped Apex Dome 28 mm tweeter with neodymium magnet. To improve the sound parameters, an acoustic labyrinth rear chamber made of an array of spruce has been implemented. The main playback range is provided by a 180 mm midwoofer mounted on a cast aluminium basket.
The speakers in this series are distinguished by their two-way design. The Maxima Amator Tower provides high sound detail without any foreign colouring or distortion. The speakers are capable of handling sound up to 35 kHz at 88 dB sensitivity. It is worth noting the high degree of consistency across the entire frequency range.
