Acoustic systems Zellaton Legacy are described by the manufacturer as "the world's best monitors in the original form factor". These are two-way speakers with a soft 20 mm tweeter, a 130 mm main speaker with a metal cone and a passive 200 mm diameter woofer located on the back panel. The speaker characteristics allow the compact loudspeakers to deliver a wide frequency range from 45 Hz to 38 kHz. The speaker impedance is 4 ohms and the sensitivity is 86 dB. The driver diaphragms are manufactured using proprietary technology using rigid polyurethane foam and thinner aluminum foil. The cabinet construction is carefully designed to eliminate internal vibrations and resonances. As a result, these handmade speakers have everything for perfect sound.
However, the sound quality does not depend only on the speakers. It is determined by every element of the system - from the cable to the amplifier. This is especially noticeable in high-end technology. That's why we decided to test Zellaton Legacy as part of two audio systems. The first of them is powered by the Gryphon Essence Stereo stereo power amplifier paired with the "native" Gryphon Essence Preamplifier. The second audio system is based on a combination of the Gryphon Pandora preamplifier and Gryphon Antileon stereo driver. Both components are commutated using premium Siltech cable to prevent signal loss or distortion.
Both systems are powered by the Stromtank S2500 battery power supply. Using this regenerator allows you to completely eliminate the impact of external power supply on sound. The device combines a powerful battery pack with auto-charging and mains filter. The DCS Vivaldi kit acts as a source.
